Before Pearson’s job matching app, students faced a disjointed process when exploring career opportunities. Job boards, career centers, and employer platforms were scattered, making it difficult for students to connect their academic progress with relevant job openings. This lack of integration led to missed opportunities, inefficient searches, and frustration for both students and employers. By centralizing career guidance and matching within Pearson’s ecosystem, the app bridges education and employment, helping students transition smoothly from classroom to career.

Challenge
Students struggled to connect their academic journey with real-world opportunities. Traditional job boards and career fairs often felt outdated, overwhelming, or mismatched with students’ skills and aspirations. Employers, on the other hand, faced difficulties reaching qualified student talent efficiently. The lack of an engaging, modern platform led to missed connections, wasted time, and a gap between education and employment.
Objective
Pearson set out to transform student career matching by building a platform that combines the professional credibility of LinkedIn with the simplicity and interactivity of swipe-based discovery. The goal was to create an engaging, student-first experience where learners could showcase their skills, explore tailored job opportunities, and connect directly with employers—all within an intuitive, mobile-friendly app.
Results
The app quickly gained traction among students and partner employers, streamlining the recruiting process while aiming to increase placement rates. By bridging education and employment in an interactive way, the app positioned Pearson as a leader in student career readiness and digital innovation.
